James Suckling in Bodega Garzón

Once again, Bodega Garzón welcomed James Suckling, one of the world’s most outstanding wine critics.

Earlier this year, Suckling arrived to South America to taste the wines of some of the most renowned wineries of the continent. Among these is Bodega Garzón, the only winery he visited during his stay in Uruguay. This time, we enjoyed a lunch together at the winery restaurant, led by celebrated Argentinian Chef Francis Mallmann, and performed a tasting of Garzón’s wine portfolio that included an important novelty: Balasto 2018.

We share the scores obtained this time by Garzón:

Balasto 2018 – 96 points.

Tannat 2018 Petit Clos – 94 points.

Tannat Single Vineyard 2018 – 94 points.

Albariño Petit Clos 2019 – 93 points.

Cabernet Franc Petit Clos 2017 – 93 points.

Albariño Reserva 2019 – 92 points.

Petit Verdot Single Vineyard 2018 – 92 points.

Pinot Noir Rosé Reserva 2019 – 92 points.

Sauvignon Blanc Single Vineyard 2019 – 92 points.

Tannat Reserva 2018 – 92 points.

Sauvignon Blanc Reserva 2019 – 91 points.

Pinot Noir Single Vineyard 2018 – 90 points.

It is with great pride that our winery receives these remarkable scores and continues participating in the events organized by James Suckling, both in the United States and in Asia, presenting the region’s best wines.

We also invite you to buy our wines online, which we deliver all around Uruguay at: https://bit.ly/3eVsuGy
