It is with great pride that we announce that Bodega Garzón was chosen to be part of the Top 100 of World Wineries 2020 by prestigious magazine Wine & Spirits.
This is the first time in history that a Uruguayan winery is included in this ranking that lists the world’s best wineries, marking a new milestone for the country.
For 16 years now, 100 wineries from across the world are chosen to be part of this important ranking, through a “blind tasting” where experts choose the best wineries of the year.
This major recognition follows other outstanding awards, such as being chosen New World Winery of 2018 according to Wine Enthusiast, #2 World’s Best Vineyards 2020 and LEED Certification, which was recently obtained and declares Bodega Garzón as the world’s first fully sustainable winery for its entire facilities.
Bodega Garzón is a State-of-the-art building that has become Uruguay’s most important winemaking enterprise. Founded by Engineer Alejandro P. Bulgheroni and owned by the group Alejandro Bulgheroni Family Vineyards, it has a vineyard of over two hundred parcels and a sustainable building of 19.050 m².
Also, it includes an exclusive restaurant for 120 diners, whose Ambassador and Culinary Director is renowned Argentinian Chef Francis Mallmann, and also several enotourism activities to enjoy its facilities all year round.
Other milestones reached by Bodega Garzón in recent years: launch of Balasto 2015, 2016 and 2017 at the exclusive Place de Bordeaux, opening of Private Club The Garzón Club, and outstanding presence of Balasto 2015 in the Top 100 of Wine & Spirits, Tannat Reserva 2015 in the Top 100 of Wine Spectator magazine, Tannat Single Vineyard 2017 in Masters of Wine, being chosen Winery of the Year by Patricio Tapia’s Descorchados Guide 2020 and having the Best Winery Restaurant according to Decanter.
This year, the presentation event of the 2020 Top 100 of W&S will be carried out in a Virtual Tasting with outstanding guest enologists and sommeliers, between Novembre 12 and 16. For further information visit: https://www.wineandspiritsmagazine.com/top100virtual
